Marie-Louise (aka MALO)

Marie-Louise (Malo) loves teaching yoga and spends most of her time upside down. To her, yoga provides the greatest bridge between a balanced body and a calm, collected mind. Marie-Louise’s specialty is a free-flow style of Power Vinyasa, which is unique to PYC. She also has two university degrees in Journalism and worked as a reporter for over 10 years in many parts of the world.

Malo’s classes will leave you feeling uplifted, energetic and strong, with a newfound courage to believe that anything is possible.

Marie-Louise has 12 years of yoga practice under her belt and a teacher training certificate from the US under Jonny Kest’s LifePower Yoga school, which is a member of the Yoga Alliance.

Jesper

Power vinyasa, Yin

Jesper

Jesper is a Yoga Alliance 200-hr registered yoga teacher, who found the love for Power Vinyasa on the East Coast of Australia, in Brisbane. Expect a class bringing focus on yourself and your breath, experimenting with a variety of balancing poses, alignment and developing strength and stability. Come along, unleash your inner child, smile and have some fun.

Although a native Viking, Australia still runs through his veins and Jesper teaches his classes in English.

Marco

Ashtanga

Marco

Marco is a certified Hatha and Ashtanga teacher from the Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Center in India. He began practicing yoga as a way to cope with mental and physical stress, but he soon realized how a regular yoga practice was improving his overall sense of well-being, inspiring him to every single moment more mindfully and with an open heart. The more he learned and grew as a yogi, the greater his intention to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of the practice with others.

Marco strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students can deepen their practice while having fun. In his classes, Marco blends breathwork, meditative focus and vigorous vinyasa sequences that will make you feel pleasantly exerted, but also calmer and clear minded.

Dominika

Nice & Easy Vinyasa

Dominika

Dominika was pulled into her first yoga class just when she needed it the most, and got caught. Learning to implement yoga in all spheres of life, she believes this practice is for everyone willing to get curious and explore. With the background in social sciences, she also has a deep interest in the mind and body connection as a tool for individual and social change.

Dominika got her 200-hour certification in Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Meditation from India in 2019. Her classes are playful and light-hearted, allowing for individual explorations of what yoga is. Her intention is to find balance between empowering asanas, soft flows and deep stillness, leaving you with a smile on your face.

Toni

Power vinyasa, Morning power

Toni

Toni is from the UK. Living life in London too hard and too fast left Toni seeking balance and purpose, and ultimately led her to discover yoga in her mid-twenties. For Toni, yoga has been a gateway to a happier and healthier lifestyle through a more conscious and connected way of being. Her passion for the practice motivated her to make a big career change and now, several trainings later, she is a 550-hour certified yoga teacher and sport massage therapist.
Toni is a big advocate of explorative movement, encouraging students to be curious and playful. Her classes are fun and creative, incorporating elements of conditioning and movement in order to help you unlock new potential within your physical practice.

All her classes are in English.

Mads

Kundalini, Breathwork & Meditation

Mads

Mads is a warm-hearted and caring Kundalini teacher, who loves using his body and being active. To him, Kundalini yoga is both physical and meditative and gives an inner calm and the ability to focus, while increasing physical health and a feeling of wellbeing. He brings a deep desire to pass on these qualities in his classes, which are intense, warm and challenging.

Mads studied to be a chiropractor and took his teacher training from the International School of Kundalini Yoga. He also teaches meditation.

His classes are in Danish or English, depending on who is in the class.

Hannah

Easy Flow, Power Vinyasa

Hannah

Hannah’s passion for yoga was ignited when she needed to cope with the cold Northwoods winters in Minnesota, USA. For Hannah, yoga goes far beyond a physical workout – it opens the heart, frees the mind, and connects one to their truest self. As an Interior Designer, Hannah holds a passion for creating a positive human experience through her work. With influence from her years of practicing Free-flow Power Vinyasa and High-heart flow Vinyasa, Hannah strives to bring love, bliss, and empowerment to her students through an exhilarating style of teaching.

Hannah has practiced yoga for the last 10 years and she received her 200 hours training in Ashtanga, Hatha, Pranayama, and Meditation at the Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Center (Yoga Alliance) in Rishikesh India.

Hannah’s classes are taught in English.

Bjørn

Hatha

Bjørn

After a career as a dancer Bjørn found yoga as a means to recover mental and physical balance. He felt compelled to share his love of the healing benefits of yoga.

Bjørn completed his 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with his Guru Mahinder Prasad in India in 2013 and has gone on to work internationally as a teacher trainer, as well as opening his own yoga school.

Bjørn’s classes are a combination of his deep love of movement and dance, and the essential elements of alignment that provide the body a safe means to explore and heal both the inner and outer self.

His classes are taught in English.

Lina

Jivamukti

Lina

For Lina yoga is a place where you can revisit your values, your true self and your core. She believes that your practice doesn’t end when you leave your mat, and that the experience continues to manifest itself in the smallest daily things.
Having a background in architecture she finds the combination of yoga philosophy and architectural creativity a very powerful tool in approaching both teaching yoga and being an architect.
Whenever Lina is teaching, she’s doing it with an open heart, care and compassion. Through the variety of carefully-sequenced asanas she might push you towards the very edge of your limits, but eventually, it will leave you grounded, uplifted and lighthearted.

Lina took her training in India and is a certified 300 hours Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. Her classes are in English.

Louise (aka LJ)

Power Vinyasa, Slowburn, Yin

Louise (aka LJ)

We all start somewhere. When LJ steps onto her mat she meets the moment as it is. When she travels, her yoga mat serves as a home away from home, a safe place. Other times it serves as a playground where she can go on a journey into her body, explore, discover, be surprised and get out of her comfort zone.
What she loves about yoga is how it immediately makes her feel happier, lighter, empowered, more balanced, connected to her body, mind and the world around her. That’s how she wishes for students to feel when they walk out of her classes.
With a background in Visual Communication and Design, LJ has a passion for function, concepts and narratives, which she strives to incorporate into her teaching in a playful way. Her desire is to trigger both your heart and mind, make you feel seen, challenged and get you into your own body.
Louise graduated from her 200 Hours Vinyasa Yoga Alliance certified training from Power Yoga Copenhagen in 2020.
Dario

Power Vinyasa, Slowburn, Yin

Dario

Dario embraces the yoga school of Free-flowing and Power Vinyasa. As a runner, Dario started doing yoga to improve strength and flexibility, prevent injuries and improve his overall wellness. Through constant Power Vinyasa training and practice, he has found a deeper meaning to physical health and shape, understanding the essence of being a yogi, which he now shares through his energizing and mindful classes.
With him, you will have the opportunity to discover the potential of your body and mind through powerful and challenging flows, playing with heat, movement and breath-work.
Dario is a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Power Vinyasa teacher from Power Yoga Copenhagen’s in-house YTT.
His classes are in English.
Shira

Power Vinyasa, Slowburn, Yin

Shira

The best yoga for Shira is when the body and mind melt together and become one. To be in a class where there is room for differences is her greatest joy to be a part of. She loves to challenge the conform ways of doing yoga and likes to bring in different genres of music and funny transitions in the flows. When we experience new things in the body and mind, we grow. This interest of hers about growth is connected to her career as a psychologist. She has a degree in psychology, which is why the focus in her classes is often on the mind and self-care.  Apart from teaching yoga, Shira is also studying to become a carpenter.

Shira has her 200 Hours Vinyasa certification from Power Yoga Copenhagen.

Taylor

Power Vinyasa, Deep Vinyasa

Taylor

Yoga is Taylor’s passion, and she is grateful for being able to practice everyday and pass her love onto other yogis. She grew up in New York State and is trained in Power Vinyasa, which focuses on breath, strength and flow. Taylor teaches invigorating classes which challenge her students to learn and grow with each practice. To her, Vinyasa is an empowering style of yoga, and she strives to pass that along to all of her students, through challenging and nurturing vinyasa flows.

Taylor has been a yoga practitioner for 10 years and in 2015 finished her Yoga Alliance Vinyasa teaching certification.

Her classes are in English.

Tom

Core Power

Tom

Tom is new to Denmark, but not new to yoga: he found yoga 25 years ago and was immediately captured by its transformative benefits. After decades of practice and workshops in Denver, San Francisco and Bali, Tom received his first 200-hour teacher training in 2016.

For Tom, yoga is not just the practice of breathing, stretching, strengthening, and mindfulness, but also the difficult process of learning to love yourself and embracing the unique manifestation that is you. His devotion-filled classes are invigorating, stimulating, strong and nurturing as he creates a space filled with fun, focus, kindness, laughter, chanting, and great music to safely explore the lasting benefits of yoga.

Thit

Deep Vinyasa, Easy Flow, Yin

Thit

Movement and teaching have been a part of Thit’s life for several years and are both a great passion of hers.

She is educated as a Sports Teacher and Personal Trainer, and in her daily work she teaches functional movement and mobility. For her, yoga is a fantastic workout for both the body and the mind.

Thit loves to make people sweat in her Vinyasa classes and to help people improve strength and flexibility, all while having a good time! She also greatly appreciates the benefits of Yin and meditation.

Thit has a Yoga Teacher Certificate from Hot Yoga Cph (Yoga Alliance certified). Her classes are in English.

Sophie

Power Vinyasa, Yin

Sophie

Sophie has always loved to use her body. She used to do weightlifting, but after a period of going through stress, she began to practice yoga and discovered that it gave her something weightlifting couldn’t – peace in mind and body.

She is educated as a nurse and finds that yoga gives her overview in situations, where it is helpful to be calm. After practising yoga for six years, Sophie became a yoga teacher because she loves to inspire others to be a better version of themselves. Sophie is a very calm teacher and it is important for her to make her students feel safe on the mat and leave them with an uplifting and self-loving feeling.

Sophie has a Vinyasa teacher training from Greenpath Yoga Studio, Brazil, which is a member of the Yoga Alliance. Her classes are in English.

Dear PYC Members and Friends,

UPDATE: With the latest restrictions we hope/plan/expect to reopen on Monday, January 18th, 2021. Start booking your classes now! We can’t wait to see you all on your mats.

RESTRICTIONS (Dec 7th, 2020)

The new government restrictions mean that we must close the studio for all classes from Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, until January 2nd, 2021.

Memberships: All memberships and payments will be put on hold during this time. If you are a clip-card holder we will extend your pass so you can use it when we reopen. No one will lose any days of their passes. If you have any questions please email us info@poweryogacopenhagen.dk

Online Yoga: We will provide our online videos as a free service for all members during this time. Get in touch if you need the password.

Once we reopen the following restrictions will still apply until Feb 28th, 2021:
Class Sizes: 10 people max in each class so 9 students plus 1 teacher. This is starting tomorrow, Monday, the 26th of October and for the next four weeks. There are already a few classes that are well over this limit. If you have a booking, please be advised that it will be cancelled at 10pm tonight, if you are booked for one of the classes that exceed the size limit. Check your bookings to make sure (or email me if you’re unsure). You will then have to rebook your spot, and it will be a first come first serve basis. So be ready at the computer at 10pm!
Waiting Lists: Because our classes will be shrunk to half capacity, there will inevitably be some waiting lists. We sincerely apologise and really wish things could be different. I hope you can bear with us during this time. Therefore, please do not book a class unless you are absolutely sure you intend to take that spot.
Class Booking: Max 4 classes/week for Power Members. Max 3 classes/week for all other pricing options. Max 1 class/day. We want to give everyone a chance to come to yoga.
Cancellation Fees: We will have to increase the fee for no shows to ensure everyone has a chance to come to yoga. Fees for no shows will be 60kr. The fee for late cancels (within 3 hours before class starts) will be 50kr. People on the waiting lists are automatically moved into the class up to 3 hours before class starts. Keep your eyes peeled on your emails and your booking, especially if you are number 1 to 5 on the waiting list! You can see which number you are in the Mindbody app.
Masks: As of Thursday, October 29th, everyone has to wear a mask as they enter and leave the studio. You do not have to wear them anywhere else in the studio. So this means you can take them off in the changing room and you can leave them in there until you are ready to leave. Masks are NOT required to and from the yoga room, and they are NOT required in the yoga room either.

Online Yoga: We are still streaming our classes LIVE for all of you, who can’t make it to the class. It’s free for all Power Members, and otherwise you can get our Online Membership for 99kr/month. Let me know if you need the password.
Get in touch if you have any questions.
In all of this, at least we have our yoga. I look forward to seeing you all on your mats.
Yours,
Marie-Louise

Your regular membership will automatically be reactivated, so you don’t need to do anything.

We’ve had to change things around a bit to fit the rules and guidelines for the reopening of yoga studios and indoor fitness activities, as stipulated by the Danish Government. Please read this through carefully.

Let us know if you have any questions at all.

Students must bring their own mats (*Please read notes below about the mats we have for sale and mat storage).

Any clothes/towels/water bottles left behind will be thrown away at the end of the day and cannot be stored at the studio.

Spritz your hands off BEFORE you enter the studio and wash your hands often

If possible, please change into your yoga clothes BEFORE you come to the studio to avoid any congestion in the changing room.

Max 5 people can be in the changing room at one time

2 meters between mats – there will be stickers on the floor to show you where to put your mat

Kitchen will have disposable cups for tea and water etc. This will lead to more waste than we like, so please bring your own water bottle

Max 1 person in the kitchen at a time

Only the instructor can use the iPad – so please do not check yourselves in

Change and shower at home after class where possible!

Instructors will unfortunately not be able to do any hands-on assisting at the moment, unless absolutely necessary

Breathe through your nose! This is the perfect opportunity to really practice this amazing breath work we do in yoga – keep your mouth closed throughout the whole class and only use nose breathing. If you at any point during the class can’t breathe through your nose, take a break! Child’s Pose is always there for you.

Finally: Do not come to the studio if you feel any sign of illness, sniffles, fever, cough etc.

We are strongest together. Help us create a clean and healthy environment. Where possible, help us to spritz off before or after you touch something, and use your elbow or shirt sleeve to open/close doors.

Other important info:

Online yoga will also continue. All PYC Members will have free access to the online videos, and otherwise it is the usual 99kr/month.

Props: No using Blocks/Bolsters/Blankets etc – You must bring your own equipment to the studio if you want to use it.

Yin: We will cue the poses without any props, but it’s always good to bring a blanket with you for extra support in some postures.

Mat Storage: We only have limited space for mat storage, so it is first come, first served. It costs 50kr/month to store mats. You will receive a tag to hang on your mat with your name. Any mats without tags will be thrown away. So please come and collect your mat, if you do not wish to store it.

*MATS FOR SALE: We have brand-new awesome mats from Moonchild for sale at the studio. They are fantastic eco quality, they look good, and most importantly – they are completely non-slip! They are also light-weight and can easily fit on your bike rack. Price: 640kr. We can also sell props if there is a demand.

It’s been a long year so far and an unexpected ride into the unknown, but at least we can be on our mats. No matter what the universe throws at us, we still have our yoga.

We can’t wait to see you all!!!

Yours truly,
Marie-Louise & Power Yoga Copenhagen Team
